Dr.Jennie Brand-Mioller ( The author of - Low GI - book ) said : 4 keys to long- term weight loss :

1 Choose low GI carbs . Eat regularly and try to include low GI carbs at every meal . This will stave off hunger and strengthen your resolve against temptation .

2 Reduce your fat intake by cutting out the the saturated fat in food such as chocolate , biscuits and crisps .

3 Snack smarter , snack low GI and say ' no thanks ' to high GI biscuits , crackers , sweets , and soft drinks .

4 Think balance and moderation . Eat a little less . Do a little more .


The glycemic index or GI is a measure of the effects of carbohydrates on blood sugar levels. Carbohydrates that break down quickly during digestion and release glucose rapidly into the bloodstream have a high GI; carbohydrates that break down more slowly ( which is perfect for loosing wight ) releasing glucose more gradually into the bloodstream, have a low GI .
